Sandy joined the BNFSC as an academic policy, performance and assessment lead.  She began her career in education as an elementary school teacher in Brooklyn’s District 20.  Later, she joined Children First Network 410, where she worked closely with school administrators and teachers to build instructional practices as a Literacy Achievement Coach.  This led to an Assistant Principal position in District 24. Sandy holds a BA in Education Pre-K-5 and an MA in Literacy Birth-6, Early Childhood & Elementary Education from New York University and has completed the NYDOE Leaders in Education Apprenticeship Program through Baruch College.  Sandy has taught master’s level literacy courses at New York University.
