Kim is an Instructional Lead for the BNFSC, where she facilitates professional learning for teachers and administrators focused on meeting the instructional, social, and behavioral needs of English language learners.  Kim brings a broad perspective to her work having served as a secondary teacher in a number of large, diverse, urban, public school districts.  Prior to joining the BNFSC, she spent 16 years honing her expertise as an ELL/ELA teacher in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California as well as Phoenix, Arizona.  Over the last 5 years, Kim taught at a NYCDOE high school in Queens designed specifically to serve newcomer ELLs.  Kim has a Master of Science in Linguistics/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and an Advanced Certificate in Public Administration earned at the Queens and Baruch Colleges of the City University of New York respectively.
